On May 9th, Justin Bieber performed in Mumbai, India and me being a fan of concerts decided to board a plane from 1409 kilometers away i.e. Delhi to Mumbai and me also being a fan of traveling, decided to stay in the city for another 3 days. I had never been to Mumbai before and what another way to explore a city than with a friend and a trusted iPhone camera.
Considering it was May, the heat was at its highest or well almost highest and since it’s a sea city, it was very humid. It was almost impossible to stay outdoors for the entire day but we managed to make the most of our time by resting in little cafes that we came across as and when we felt that the heat was getting too much or when we got hungry(obviously).
Poetry was about 10 minutes away from our hotel which was on Carter Road. It’s a tiny, artsy patisserie and café opened up by Love and Cheesecake in Bandra West. You can call me stupid or plain ignorant that I did not try any of their cakes, trust me I regret it now but to beat the heat, I did try their Iced Café Mocha and my friend tried The Watermelon and Basil Iced Tea. The coffee was definitely good and so was the iced tea, the right amount of sweet with a bit of sour to it. We also ordered a Caesar Salad though ended up canceling the order as we were running a bit short on schedule.
What caught my attention the most was that how informal and homely the place felt. It is a small space but it is super cute and the staff is very welcoming. They brought our bill inside a poetry book by Sylvia Plath, how cool is that?
All in all, it was a worth it half an hour stay at the café. I have attached pictures for you guys and mentioned all the details.
If you live in Mumbai and haven’t been to the café (which is super surprising) or if you are planning to go anytime soon do visit the place and let me know about your experience.
